Rooted Narratives is a young and evolving architecture, interior and landscape design practice led by Ar. Vijay Dharmalingam (B.Arch - 2016 - Hindustan University, Chennai) and Ar. Vrinda Tapadia (B.Arch - 2018 - Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur). We are a Bangalore based collective of professionals, working with clients and collaborators in varying architectural scales and typologies, situated in different geographical contexts within Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

At Rooted Narratives, we believe in the notion that architecture emerges from a rigorous process, that elevates user experiences and helps in developing exciting meaningful spaces that evoke human emotions. We design spaces that are meticulously crafted from a study of climate, culture, technology and history - each unique to the place and its people.

Rooted Narratives is working in both rural and urban contexts and our portfolio consists of different scales of family homes, farm houses, beach houses, community housing, healthcare, commercial, industrial and multi use roof-top developments. Our previous work experiences with our mentors Ar. Pramod Balakrishnan in Chennai, Ar. Aniket Bhagwat in Ahmedabad and with Ar. Iype Chacko & Ar. Rajesh Ranganathan in Bangalore has given us exposure to different scales, typologies, contexts and other parameters of the practice. By drawing insights and inspirations from our mentors, we have have initiated ROOTED NARRATIVES - where we intend to create context and user centric meaningful spaces.
